Indian textile and apparel major Raymond has made a key management change recently. Sanjeev Rao has been given the additional charge of the post of Director – Trade Sales and Relationships at the company.
Rao has been with Raymond Apparel Ltd. (RAL) since 2015 as Director – Business Development. He is currently the in-charge of the company’s business development function.
Rao’s role has widened at a time when the textile company is undergoing restructuring to consolidate all sales and relationship related activities in the apparel and textile business under a single wing. In his new role, Rao will oversee sales and distribution for Raymond’s Park Avenue Womenswear along with international markets (all apparel lines).
Armed with 25 years of rich experience in retail industry, Rao is known to be a progressive entrepreneurial visionary and change agent with an impressive track record of turning organisational objectives into reality.
Rao told Apparel Resources that he currently looks at the retail real estate expansion which basically is the exclusive brand outlet expansion. He also manages sales, international expansion and distribution aspects for Raymond Apparel. “The whole idea is that the entire sales and distribution network is now getting consolidated now under one leadership to take it as a one large bouquet of our brands for international expansion as well as the Indian market,” he added.
Previously, he has been instrumental in bringing in meticulousness and structure in the business development operations and procedures. Under his leadership, Raymond Group’s retail portfolio has been performing significantly well, registering exceptional growth and enhanced awareness blitzkrieg.
