In his new role, Samir is tasked with the responsibility for driving the company’s development and execution of long-term strategies, with the objective of growing shareholder value.

For the past few years, the retailer has been performing with remarkable consistency – growing at over 20 per cent year-on-year – and today has morphed into a 170 plus store chain with footprints across 14 states pan-India. And over 90 per cent of its revenues come from apparel and fashion segment, notably.
“Samir’s appointment is an exciting milestone in a plan that we’ve been working on for some time, to establish V-Mart as a market leader in the country. The COO role will consolidate functions – we believe, this is the key to meet the long-term vision,” averred V-Mart Retail Chairman & Managing Director Lalit Agarwal.
Elated at his appointment as V-Mart COO, Samir Mishra stated, “I’m looking forward to working with Lalit, the Board to start the next chapter in V-Mart’s success story.”
The company, he further added, is fairly well-positioned for the future and we ought to continue to innovate and step up the pace of change needed to meet the expectations of our shareholders, customers, employees and society at large.
It’s worth mentioning that V-Mart Retail Limited has recently been recognised as ‘The world’s best performing department store’ this year’ on basis of its stock performance, according to data compiled by Bloomberg.
Undoubtedly, there’re lots many expectations and steering the company to newer heights would be quite challenging. However, Samir’s people-centric leadership style, industry expertise and market understanding will surely help him sail through the responsibility entrusted to him.
