
Global furniture retailer IKEA, which is pleased with its continuous growth in Texas, has announced the opening of its fifth store in the state in spring 2019.
The upcoming IKEA store will be set up in an area of 289,000 square feet at the southwestern corner of Interstate 35 and Loop 1604. Around 250 people will be hired before the opening of the new store.
The ground-breaking ceremony of the new store was performed in Live Oak on May 20, 2018. The ceremony was attended by Live Oak Mayor Mary M. Dennis, Live Oak City Manager Scott Wayman, local officials and community leaders.
Around 10,000 exclusively designed items, multiple inspirational room settings, three model home interiors, a supervised children’s play area and a restaurant will be available at the new IKEA store.
“San Antonio-area customers will be offered IKEA shopping experience closer to them with new IKEA store in the area,” stated Lars Petersson, IKEA US President.
Tribble & Stephens Construction has been tasked with responsibility of the construction of IKEA’s Live Oak store.
In addition to fifth store in Texas, the Swedish furniture retailer has also announced the opening of its third store in Polish capital city Warsaw. The proposed store to come up in the Blue City shopping centre is expected to become operational in second half of 2018.
Innovative product presentation solutions that facilitate shopping will be made available at new, smaller format store.
Around 28 million people visited IKEA stores in Poland in 2017 and 91 million visit witnessed on its website also.
