
Ukraine has become 70th market globally where Swedish fashion retailer H&M has gone available. The brand opened its debut store in the country on August 18.
H&M’s first store in Ukraine has been housed at Lavina Mall, the country’s largest shopping complex spread in a 2,900 square meters area.
Homeware (under the H&M Home brand) and clothing for men, women, and children have been stocked here. The brand did not reveal financial details related to opening of Ukraine debut store.
The Iconic fast-fashion clothing brand has employed around 200 full-time and part-time staffers at its newly inaugurated store in the country. Additionally, it also announced opening of its second store in the country in October this year.
The arrival of H&M in Ukraine is seen as a major tool to counter the brain drain trend in the country. Mnay of the staff at H&M’ Ukraine store were offered 2-3 months of training in Warsaw, Poland, Stockholm and Sweden.
In addition to Ukraine store, the brand has also confirmed opening of new location in Iowa, US. The brand is all set to open its new store at North Park Mall on August 30.
The upcoming H&M store at Davenport in lowa, will serve as a one-stop shopping destination for quality clothing for the whole family, with collections for ladies, men and teens. Accessories will also be offered here.
US has been one of the most successful markets for H&M where its arrived 17 years ago. The brand is present at 522 locations across the country.
