
Multi-brand online retailer, The Very Group has unveiled its trading performance for the Christmas and Black Friday period, for the span of seven weeks until 22nd December 2023, showcasing a 3.4 per cent year-on-year growth in UK retail sales.
Despite the positive trend, a segment like the fashion division, experienced a drop in sales by 3.9 per cent. However, the premium fashion segment witnessed a 14.7 per cent year-on-year growth.
The overall group reported a 2.1 per cent increase in sales. Group CEO Lionel Desclée stated “As expected in the current economic climate, consumers were on the lookout for amazing deals. We served these to existing customers and plenty of new customers during our Black Friday campaign.”
Desclée acknowledged the difficulties ahead and expressed confidence in the resilience of their operating model, highlighting its ability to provide families with one-stop-shop solutions in the evolving retail space.
