Traders in Noida have finally heaved a sigh of relief after the Uttar Pradesh Government’s latest decision!
The State Government has allowed malls and markets in Noida to open on all 5 weekdays and close only over the weekends. The exception is only for the emergency services, grocery shops, etc., to remain open even on the weekends.
Sushil Kumar Jain, the Confederation of All India Traders’ Convener for NCR, informed that while the UP Government has taken the aforementioned decision, local authorities are yet to pass an order for the same.
According to the new guidelines issued by the UP Government, all shops, markets, malls and administrative offices will remain closed from Friday 10 pm to Monday 5 am. The opening hours will be from 9 am to 9 pm.
There are a total of 12 malls and more than 200 markets in Noida and Greater Noida; the regions were faced with a weekend-long lockdown, as a huge number of COVID-19 cases were confirmed there.
Even malls were impacted hugely for being considered an area likely to spread the virus owing to the crowds.
All in all, traders are looking at the latest development as a positive sign for their businesses in the days to come.
