Giorgio Armani announced the reopening of around 100 of his Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani stores yesterday.
The re-openings occur along with upgraded security measures and a new system of booking appointments in-store. This move will be followed by the opening of Armani Silos.
On what The Armani Group has termed as ‘Phase 2’ of the measures taken on its behalf to ensure safety post the global lockdown, it has promised that the re-openings would be done “in full compliance with regulations laid down by the authorities,” as part of its overall efforts to “focus on guaranteeing maximum safety for its employees and customers.”
The flagships re-opened are located in important fashion hubs like Paris, Milan, Munich, Beijing, Hong Kong and Sydney.
The Group announced that it will be donating 10 per cent of the proceeds from the sales of its Spring/Summer 2020 collections to charities operating in their respective cities.
Besides, the Group also launched its new Book an Appointment service, which allows customers to directly book their appointments online.
Active worldwide, the service is currently available for Giorgio Armani and Emporio Armani stores, and for A|X Armani Exchange stores 3 June onwards.
Armani Silos – the designer’s iconic museum and art space located in south Milan – is scheduled to reopen later this week, after a two-month lockdown.
Giorgio Armani himself sent an open letter to Italian newspapers thanking the nation’s health workers for their service throughout the coronavirus pandemic. He also converted the brand’s iconic billboard located on central Milan on via Brolettoin Italy, into an image honouring Italian healthcare workers.
