Gap is drawing the curtains on its Spanish storefronts. The American fashion house revealed this decision through its social media platforms tailored to the Spanish market and its dedicated e-commerce platform, which has also ceased operations.
“The Gap, Gap Outlet and Gap.es stores are now closed. We thank our customers for their loyalty over the years,” the brand explained in an Instagram post, accompanied by an image captioned “goodbye, for now.”
This warning is reiterated on the company’s website, which also gives clients an email address and phone number that will work until 18th March 2024. “As we close our logistics centre, it is imperative that returns are received by 20th March 2024 in order to process them,” it stated.
In addition to these service details, Gap.es stated that the brand’s products are still available through internet marketplaces and multi-brand stores. The website does not say at this time if Gap will still be available at El Corte Inglés department stores, where it opened for business in 2015 and had 46 locations as of 2020.
Gap is closing its Spanish outlets more than three years after venturing into the retail landscape alongside its franchised partner, Grup Galceran.
