Italian luxury company Furla opened its first store in Florida at Aventura Mall, which is the largest shopping mall in Florida and the second largest shopping mall in the United States.
Spread across around 1,200-square-foot of store space, the new store design store features interiors of durmast oak accented with Champagne-colored metal.
“The city’s rich heritage, combined with its vibrant artistic culture and interest in fashion makes it the perfect destination for our brand”, Alberto Camerlengo, CEO of the Furla Group, said, adding, “We found the perfect location at Aventura Mall. The area has a robust local and tourist economy. We are always looking for optimal locations.”
The Miami flagship will house the brand’s complete range of women’s bags, scarves, jewelry, key rings and men’s leather accessories.
“The state as a whole is enjoying population growth, and the Miami area is among the fastest-growing, multicultural cities in the U.S. We want to be part of this growth,” Camerlengo further stated.
Prior to the Florida opening, locals had to visit Furla’s Duty Free shop at Miami’s airport to purchase Furla items. “Furla has wholesale accounts in the Los Angeles area, but this will be our first store in California. We are a global brand, and it was so important for us to have a freestanding store on the West Coast.” Added.
The inauguration followed a series of back to back events hosted by the Bologna-based accessories brands and it’s Chief Executive Officer in the Americas, Scott Link. Kicked off on 12th July, the events included a brunch the new retail space, and a sit-down dinner with a well-stocked flower stand for media guests and influencers to make their own bouquets at the Soho Beach House. The events followed the theme of the brand’s Pre-Fall 2018’s Women’s bag collection that feature printed and 3D embellished florals and butterflies.
Located on the top most level of Aventura Mall at 19501 Biscayne Blvd, the store has Kiehl’s and Coach as its neighbors and sits across from Swarovski and Chanel.
The Florida, Miami opening marks Furla’s fifth shop in the US, with its sixth full-price store coming up at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California, in September.
