As part of its most recent reorganisation, Frasers Group, the parent company of Sports Direct and Flannels, has reportedly entered into consultation with employees in its editorial and design teams.
Thirty percent of the staff in the targeted teams would be affected, according to a business spokeswoman who confirmed the news. According to media outlet sources, on 7th March, consultations had already begun among staff members at the group’s Shirebrook and London headquarters.
This is the most recent round of layoffs at the massive British retailer, which threatened to liquidate its Manchester Trafford office in July of last year, threatening 100 jobs, followed by the slashing of a further 45 jobs as Frasers moved its trading digital team from London to its headquarters in Shirebrook.
Frasers Group announced sales and earnings losses during the first half of the 2024–2025 fiscal year in December 2024. While its operating profit declined 10.5 per cent, group sales plummeted 8.3 per cent, with its Premium Lifestyle business experiencing the biggest decline.
