
Flipkart’s Big Billion Days 2024 has attracted significant traction with tech-led innovations such as video commerce and FlipInTrends, driving increased shopper engagement during the festive season. The e-commerce platform recorded over 33 crore user visits on the first day of the sale, which began on 27th September, with early access for members on 26th September.
Video commerce, particularly live streams, has seen a 25-fold surge in product purchases compared to the pre-sale period, with 85 per cent of these shoppers being younger consumers. Additionally, 65 per cent of these buyers came from Tier-2 cities, highlighting growing interest beyond metro areas. FlipInTrends, which curates trending fashion, also noted a 10-fold increase in user engagement.
Harsh Chaudhary, Vice President of Growth at Flipkart, highlighted that lifestyle upgrade categories are seeing rising demand, especially in Tier-2+ cities. Over the first two days of the sale, 75 per cent of sellers on the platform experienced a notable increase in orders compared to the pre-festive period.
