
The marketplace extension of the e-commerce major, Flipkart, revealed a rise of 42 per cent in operating earnings for FY ’23 to Rs. 14,845 crore, with a 9 per cent decrease in loss to Rs. 4026 Crore. In FY ’22, the company generated Rs. 10,477 crore in revenue from operations while shedding Rs. 4419 crore altogether.
According to a report obtained from the business intelligence platform Tofler, its profits from logistics services increased by 50 per cent to Rs. 5789 crore in FY ’23. In FY ’23, the business generated Rs. 3713 crore more from marketplace services, which was 32 per cent more than in FY ’22. In FY ’23, advertising income was Rs. 3324 crore, up from Rs. 2083 crore in FY ’22.
Based on states, Flipkart India’s operational income increased by 9 per cent from FY ’23 to Rs. 55,823 crore, but its loss increased by 42 per cent to Rs. 4845 crore. Flipkart India provides items to online vendors that sell through Flipkart Internet, the company’s online marketplace organisation.
During its main festival sales event, The Big Billion Days (TBBD) 2023, there were 1.4 billion client visits, a record.
Flipkart conducts its India business through multiple organisations, and Flipkart Internet runs its marketplace, earning money from seller commissions, advertising revenues, and other fees for merchant operations.
