Fat Face, the British lifestyle clothing retailer, recently became the victim of cyber-attack, much to the dismay of its customers.
However, what was more worrying was that the retailer, reportedly, informed its customers almost 2 months later.
After suffering cyber hacking in January, as per media reports, there is a possibility that data of customers and even employees could have been compromised.
The fashion retailer informed the customers through an e-mail that their data – including their names and card details – could have been compromised in the cyber hacking. The retailer, therefore, asked customers to be careful over potential identity theft attempts.
The mail also requested the customers to keep the hacking issue strictly confidential.
However, several customers took to social media and expressed their angst. Most of them were annoyed over retailer’s decision to inform them so late.
Fat Face told media that after identifying some suspicious activity back in January 2021, it immediately started investigation process with the help of security specialists.
The retailer also added that following investigation, it was found that an unauthorised third part had got an access to Fat Face’s certain systems.
