Two weeks from now, Fast Retailing will come up with the much-talked about and revamped Mitsui Outlet Park in Japan.
To be officially launched on 10 April 2020, the new outlet will be a perfect blend of retail space and amusement facilities that include everything from jungle gymnasium and slides to interactive spaces – everything that a family needs to rest and play while shopping.
The new park has huge designated space for both Uniqlo and for its sister brand GU. While the sales area of Uniqlo covers 2,182 square metres, GU has 1,818 square metres.
With the world struggling amidst COVID-19 disaster, the fashion retail giant has, reportedly, planned to come up with as many as 3 big stores in Tokyo’s metropolitan area in next 2 months.
Though Tokyo Olympics has now been postponed to next year, the fashion brand still has plans to go ahead with this ambitious amusement park, which could have got good push had the event been held this year.
Importantly, Uniqlo had 811 stores in Japan as of February 2020, with a focus on several Asian countries including China.
