The assets of Two Authenticators Inc. (2a), a wholesale distributor of authenticated, pre-owned luxury items located in Montreal, have been acquired by resale platform Fashionphile.
As part of the agreement, Ben Hemminger, the co-founder and CEO of the platform, will be subordinate to Fred Mannella, co-founder and CEO of 2a, who will join Fashionphile as senior vice president of wholesale.
Mannella and Fashionphile had previously connected when the latter company purchased the former’s business, LXRandCO, inc., of which the former was chief development officer and co-founder in 2023.
However, the goal of this most recent acquisition is to support the business’s global omnichannel operations and B2B wholesale product expansion.
In a release, Hemminger said: “We continue to be excited about the opportunity to diversify our omnichannel operations and enter the secondhand wholesale market in the US and internationally.”
Founded in 2021, 2a was established to support luxury vintage retail B2B operations in Canada and the US, and currently counts more than 20 partners across various channels.
