
Fashion retailer Ralph Lauren has tapped Kevin Carrigan to take the new role of Senior Vice President and Creative Director at the company. Kevin will oversee women’s line Lauren and Chaps of the fashion brand. He previously spent 18 years at Calvin Klein, rising to the role of Global Creative Director there.
Commenting on the appointment, Valérie Hermann, President – Ralph Lauren said, “Kevin is a proven leader with significant brand experience. Consistent with the Way Forward Plan, he will be focused on evolving the Lauren brand in a way that stays true to our unique brand DNA and makes it even more desirable for today’s evolving consumer.”

It is pertinent to mention here that the fashion label has noted sales slump in recent times which push edit to close stores and slash jobs in order to cut costs that impacted the company’s margin. So, this new move is a big change for the US brand, as its founder Ralph Lauren was always the main designer at his brand. And Carrigan, with his appointment, has brought almost 20 years of design experience… It will be interesting to see what new he will bring to the fashion biggie.
