Global activewear brand Fabletics has entered the Indian market with its first store at DLF Promenade in New Delhi, in partnership with Reliance Brands Limited (RBL). The company also plans to open a second store in Mumbai.
The Delhi store features Fabletics’ activewear range for men and women, including leggings, joggers, pants, shorts, sports bras, tops, polo shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, vests, bags and hats.
The store includes an RFID-enabled fitting room system. Customers can take products into the trial room, where an in-room tablet identifies the items and displays product information and inventory for other sizes and styles. Customers can then request alternatives without leaving the fitting room.
The store opening attracted more than 100 people, with activities including a balance-board challenge and a claw machine. A movement-focused pop-up and pedal-powered smoothie station were also set up in the DLF Promenade atrium during the launch.
Commenting on the opening, Sumeet Yadav, Head, Reliance Brands Limited, said Indian activewear consumers are increasingly looking for apparel that combines performance and style. He added that the company plans to expand Fabletics’ presence in India.
Meera Bhatia, President, Fabletics, said the India launch would allow customers to experience the brand’s products and technology through its physical retail format. The Fabletics store at DLF Promenade is now open to customers.
