Since the ownership shift, Versace, an Italian luxury brand currently owned by the Prada Group, has made its first high-profile executive relocation. Eloise Hautcoeur, who has over 15 years of fashion and communications experience from positions at Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta and top firm KCD, has been named the brand’s Global Communications Director.
Eloise formally announced her new post as the brand’s ‘Global Communications Director’ on her LinkedIn profile. She will be based in Milan and collaborate with Caroline Deroche Pasquier, who has been Versace’s Global Communications Vice President since early 2024. Eloise takes over from Mathieu Baboulène, who left the company this summer to take a position at Marine Serre as the Global Head of Press and Communications.
Before joining KCD in 2015, where she oversaw the London public relations division, Eloise started her fashion career in 2008, working in press offices for several companies. Later, she moved in-house, where she oversaw communications for Northern Europe at Bottega Veneta before joining Kering as the UK Communications Director for Saint Laurent.
When Versace debuted the first looks from its recently hired Creative Director, Dario Vitale, during the Venice Film Festival this Fall, it made headlines. By clothing Julia Roberts and Amanda Seyfried alike in jeans, striped shirts and blue blazers, the brand created a viral sensation that went viral on social media and the red carpet.
At a critical juncture, Eloise assumes her new post amidst a change of ownership and new creative direction. Communications will be crucial to determining Versace’s future positioning and image as its public presence changes.
