Atterley, the Edinburgh-based online fashion company, has closed a£3 million funding round and is keen to execute its growth strategy.
Notably, the funding round was led by a private equity firm, namely, Maven Capital Partners.
The current investors of the online fashion firm, which works with over 250 independent retailers across the globe and 3,000 brands live on its website, include former Tesco Chief Executive Sir Terry Leahy and Graeme Bissett, former Chairman, Blackcircles.com, amongst others.
While considering the investment as a driving factor for Atterley’s next big phase of growth, Mike Welch, Founder and Chairman, Atterley, said that the company has always adopted a ‘test and learn’ approach to its investments in growth.
Mike said the ‘test and learn’ approach has kept Atterley strong as shareholders in addition to helping the company carry through some of the most difficult periods for businesses.
Meanwhile, David Milroy, Maven Capital Partners, said “The retail sector is going through unprecedented change creating huge opportunities for online fashion marketplaces.”
