Ecoalf, the environmentally conscious fashion brand, has appointed Manel Echevarria as its new CEO. Echevarria, previously CEO at Ananas Anam, brings a wealth of experience to his new role.
Echevarria officially assumed his position at Ecoalf in April. Meanwhile, Javier Goyeneche, the brand’s founder, will continue serving as president, as confirmed by company sources
Before joining Ecoalf, Echevarria held the CEO position at Ananas Anam from September 2023. After over six months, he passed the baton to Silvia Bernardini, formerly of Swarovski. Ananas Anam specializes in textile solutions derived from pineapple.
Echevarria’s background in the fashion and luxury industry is extensive. He previously served as CEO of Lacoste Iberia from 2018 to 2020 and then led Excens Sports, a group specializing in sports goods sales and distribution. His earlier career includes executive roles at renowned companies like Swarovski and Montblanc.
With Echevarria’s appointment, Ecoalf fills the CEO position vacant since mid-2023 after the departure of Andrés López. Previously, Marisa Selfa, with experience in companies like Tendam, Timberland, and Adidas, led the sustainable fashion brand. Selfa transitioned to CEO of the textile division at the Ocean Born Foundation earlier this year.
Established in 2009 by Javier Goyeneche, Ecoalf is recognized for its sustainability and innovation. With revenues reaching € 60 million last year, the company aims for a 25% turnover increase this year, targeting € 150 million by 2027, with a strategic focus on markets, including the United States.
