American fashion label Diane Von Furstenberg has announced the appointment of Sandra Campos as its new Chief Executive Officer.
DVF has taken a considerable amount of time in re-selecting a CEO, a position that was vacant ever since the departure of Paolo Riva around the end of 2016 from the post.
Aligning with Furstenberg’s age-old vision of empowering women through comfortable clothes, Campos explained her plans: “The DVF brand transcends generational lines and we plan on expanding our community of women #InCharge through digital and socially connected experiences across all consumer touch points.”
Campos joins the brand with an impressive portfolio that includes presiding popular brands like Juicy Couture, Bebe, BCBG, Herve Leger and Tretorn during her most recent tenure at Global Brands Group (GBG). Before this, she co-founded Cynosure Brands Holdings LLC that focusses on managing the launch and strategy of celebrity lifestyle brands like Selena Gomez’s Dream Out Loud.
“When I met Sandra I was immediately impressed by her knowledge and passion for the business, her expertise in digital and her understanding of DVF,” chimed in an excited von Furstenberg.
DVF’s recently appointed Creative Head Nathan Jenden was also working at GBG as the Head of Design at Bebe while supporting the teams at Hervé Leger and Juicy.
Jenden’s pre-existing simpatico relationship with new CEO Campos and Paula Sutter, and with the brand’s old President also joining the board last year, it might be time for a major turnaround of DVF’s market standing.
DVF also recently publicised that she was looking for investors to further help expand the company in a growing contemporary segment.
