Fashion retailers in the Netherlands achieved a 6 per cent turnover growth in October 2024, as per the INretail Fashionpanel report. The month saw a 5 per cent increase in transactions, while the number of items sold rose by 3 per cent.
Cumulatively, fashion retail turnover for the first 10 months of 2024 grew by 3 per cent compared to the same period last year, with a 1 per cent increase in the number of transactions. INretail highlighted opportunities for further growth in the coming months, suggesting that reduced discounting strategies could enhance profit margins.
In contrast, the Dutch shoe industry faced challenges in October, with turnover dropping 4 per cent. The number of shoe transactions and pairs sold fell by 4 per cent and 6 per cent, respectively.
The Netherlands remains a significant hub for international fashion brands, hosting regional headquarters for major players like PVH, Chanel, Nike, and Just Brands.
