Dior revealed a captivating tribute, unveiling a new capsule collection that draws inspiration from the iconic artist and feminist pioneer, Niki de Saint Phalle. Dior’s relationship with Saint Phalle traces back to 1954 when the artist and model adorned a Dior ensemble, framed by photographer Henry Clarke.
The connection between Dior and Saint Phalle deepened in 1965 under the direction of Marc Bohan, leading to a lasting friendship and a series of collaborations. In 2018, Maria Grazia Chiuri honored Saint Phalle in Dior’s Spring/Summer ready-to-wear collection.
In 2024, Dior demonstrated this timeless connection with a capsule collection, celebrating Saint Phalle’s legacy. The pieces showcase the artist’s imaginative prowess, featuring drawings inspired by her works such as ‘Tu Es Mon Dragon’, ‘Strength’, and ‘Foulard Zodiaque’.
The collection includes reimagined iconic Lady Dior and Dior Book Tote with vibrant zodiac motifs, along with long-sleeved T-shirts, wrap-around knits, and denim items adorned with a dragon motif, symbolizing the main attraction of this artistic revival.
