Christian Dior Couture has announced the appointment of Benedetta Petruzzo as its new Deputy Managing Director. Petruzzo, who previously served as Managing Director of Miu Miu, a brand under the Prada Group, will officially join Dior on October 15. This move follows the leadership of Delphine Arnault, daughter of LVMH Chairman Bernard Arnault, who became CEO of Dior over a year ago.
Petruzzo will oversee Dior’s “Products” teams, including supply chain management, and will report directly to Delphine Arnault. She succeeds Charles Delapalme, a key LVMH executive, who has held significant roles at both Fendi and Louis Vuitton. The company has indicated that Delapalme will be taking on new responsibilities, which will be disclosed later.
Before joining Miu Miu, Petruzzo was a luxury goods and retail consultant at Bain & Company and later became executive vice-president for Kering’s luxury eyewear division in North America. Her leadership at Miu Miu contributed to the brand’s strong performance, particularly in China, despite challenges in the luxury market.
This appointment comes amid ongoing investigations by Italian authorities into Dior’s subcontractors’ working conditions. Additionally, LVMH has pledged to enhance its sourcing strategy and increase audits and controls following publicized procedures in Italy. European asset management firm Amundi, along with other investors, has also urged LVMH to implement stricter measures to monitor supplier practices.
