Dick’s Sporting Goods, the largest US-based full-line omni-channel sporting goods retailer, has appointed Paul Gaffney as its new Chief Technology Officer, effective November 20, 2017.
Paul’s appointment has come at a time when the sports company is growing every day through its digital transformation efforts.
Dick’s Sporting Goods is hopeful of noticing an immediate positive impact on the company once Paul assumes charge.
Before joining Dick’s Sporting Goods, Paul was serving The Home Depot, where he was working as the Senior Vice President of Information Technology. He was responsible for the organisation’s software engineering, user-centred design and applications.
Paul, who earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Harvard University, also worked with AAA Northern California as President and Chief Executive Officer.
He is excited to be a part of Dick’s Sporting Goods team at a time when the firm is making investments in technology to stay ahead in the market.
At Dick’s Sporting Goods, Paul will be responsible for the company’s infrastructure, e-commerce platforms and digital platforms. The retailer currently operates more than 715 stores across the United States.
