Diane von Furstenberg has announced the appointment of Graziano de Boni as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Gabby Hirata. De Boni, who joined the company in October 2023, previously held positions at Philipp Plein, Armani, and Prada. His primary focus at DVF has been to develop a product and brand strategy to address the brand’s financial challenges. De Boni will report directly to the DVF Board.
In a significant operational shift, the company also revealed that by the end of the year, all global business operations will be managed in-house. This marks a departure from its previous digital-first and China-focused wholesale strategy, which was implemented in 2020 after years of declining sales and restructuring. Under this strategy, Glamel Trading Limited managed the manufacturing, merchandising, and global operations for the DVF label. The company achieved profitability in 2021 for the first time in over a decade.
De Boni emphasised the importance of regaining control of the brand’s design and narrative as a crucial step in reimagining its future business model. Despite the operational changes, DVF will continue its relationship with Glamel, with the latter remaining responsible for distributing DVF products in Greater China.
