American sportswear business Columbia Sportswear Company has announced in a press statement that Skip Potter, its chief technology and information officer, is leaving his position. Prior to joining the company in August 2021, Potter was Nike’s chief technology officer.
Potter has almost twenty years of IT experience. He oversaw Columbia’s global digital presence in his capacity as its leader, which included omnichannel and supply chain skills. For four years, he oversaw Nike’s 2,000 e-commerce and digital employees.
In 2024, Columbia Sportswear had a difficult time. According to the company’s third-quarter financial report, sales dropped 5 per cent to US $ 931.8 million. In the same quarter last year, net income was US $ 158 million; this year, it was US $ 120 million.
Tim Boyle, the CEO, underlined that the third-quarter results reflect ongoing challenges, including rising temperatures and hesitant consumer spending.
