On the strength of “exceptional growth” during the previous year’s Christmas selling period, British retailer Crew Clothing has announced plans to establish at least 20 new locations in 2025.
The success of the brand’s multichannel strategy was demonstrated by Crew’s total business sales for weeks 51 and 52 of 2024, which rose by 45 per cent over the prior year.
While net sales at the company’s retail locations increased by 22 per cent, e-commerce sales increased by 70 per cent. Sales through third-party channels increased by 34 per cent because of collaborations with stores like John Lewis and Marks & Spencer.
According to Crew, the fourth quarter’s performance showed “consistent momentum,” as evidenced by a 17 per cent increase in overall like-for-like sales. In contrast, Black Friday was “record breaking,” helping to boost sales by 23 per cent between the discount holiday day and the end of December.
Crew anticipates being “well-positioned for further success in 2025” as a result of this, thanks to a “clear growth strategy” that builds on its 2024 efforts, which included the opening of 15 new stores.
The business has already committed to several new renovations and new retail locations in Kendal and Keswick for the upcoming year. According to Crew, these efforts are meant to demonstrate a commitment to “driving every aspect of the omnichannel model,” which “continues to yield consistent positive results.”
