Columbia Sportswear Company has announced the appointment of Peter Bragdon and Joseph Boyle as co-presidents, effective 12th November 2025, as part of a wider leadership restructuring aimed at advancing the company’s global growth strategy.
Bragdon has been named President, Columbia Sportswear Company, and will oversee all of the US outdoorwear group’s international businesses, as well as its Mountain Hardwear, PrAna, and Sorel brands. He will continue to lead select administrative and international distributor sales functions.
Boyle has been appointed President, Columbia Brand, and will continue to oversee the firm’s flagship Columbia brand, including its North American operations, which were consolidated under his leadership earlier this year.
The company said both leaders would “advance the commercial opportunities of the company” and will report directly to Timothy Boyle, who remains Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
Timothy Boyle said he had spent most of his life growing the company and its brands, and that protecting and expanding them globally had been a source of great pride. He added that as Columbia returns to growth, “new opportunities will be developed, and enthusiastic leadership will be in place to take the company to the next level.”
He noted that Bragdon, who joined Columbia in 1999, had been a “trusted adviser and strategic leader” who helped drive key growth initiatives. In recent years, Bragdon and his team have expanded the company’s distributor business across 74 countries, strengthening its financial performance and global brand visibility.
Timothy Boyle also credited Joe Boyle as “the architect of the Columbia brand’s Project Accelerate strategy”, expressing confidence in his ability to drive the brand’s next phase of expansion in the US market.
In related leadership changes, Richelle Luther has been promoted to Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel, while Jana Humble has been named Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, both appointments effective 12 November.
In its latest quarterly earnings report, Columbia Sportswear said third-quarter sales rose by 1% to US $ 943.4 million, with international growth offsetting a decline in US sales.
