Citykart has reached the 200-store milestone with the opening of its latest outlet in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, marking a significant expansion of its value-apparel retail network. The retailer, which began operations in Lucknow in 2016, now has a presence across more than 120 cities in 14 states, with a total retail footprint of over 13.6 lakh sq. ft.
The companyβs expansion has accelerated considerably in recent years. After reaching 100 stores in November 2023 and 150 stores in October 2025, Citykart added its next 50 outlets in less than a year. Unlike franchise-led apparel chains, its entire network operates under a Company-Owned, Company-Operated (COCO) model, allowing the retailer direct control over merchandise, pricing, sourcing and store execution.
Apparel remains central to Citykartβs proposition, with the retailer targeting value-conscious and aspirational families across Tier-II, Tier-III and Tier-IV markets. Its stores typically span 8,000β12,000 sq. ft., offering multiple apparel categories under one roof. The retailerβs average selling price is around Rs 330, while its average ticket size ranges between Rs 450 and Rs 650.
Private labels are a key part of its apparel strategy, accounting for nearly 90% of the assortment. Its portfolio covers womenβs ethnic and westernwear, menβs essentials, denim, youth fashion, smart casuals and kidswear. The company sources directly from major apparel manufacturing hubs including Surat, Ahmedabad, Tirupur and Ludhiana, helping it develop products around targeted price points.
Citykartβs revenue has also grown alongside its store network, rising from Rs 524 crore (US $55.45 million) in FY23 to Rs 919 crore (US $97.25 million) in FY25. The company is targeting revenue of over Rs 1,300 crore (US $137.57 million) in FY26. With around 135 of its 200 stores located across Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, the retailer continues to build density in key value-fashion markets while expanding into newer regions.
