The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) has announced its plans to take the world of designing and high fashion digital with the launch of Runway360.
The digital platform, slated to launch right before NYFW, will help designers all over America remain connected during the pandemic.
Runway360 was developed by New York-based design studio DE-YAN as a portal to showcase designers’ collections, and will be available for consumers, designers, retailers and members of the press throughout the year.
What’s more is that, brands can have their very own customisable pages that will allow them to present storytelling and digital activations.
In order to facilitate smooth interaction between all purveyors of fashion, Runway360 will support live video streaming, e-commerce extensions, AR/VR, 360-degree capabilities, social media integrations, consumer shopping features along with virtual press conferences.
The shortened schedule of NYFW will now fall on 14-16 September and Runway360 is a platform that will provide a solution to the travel restrictions and social distancing norms all have to follow in this time and day.
For the purpose of this platform, CFDA has also partnered with B2B wholesale solutions company NuOrder.
