Canadian clothing brand, Moose Knuckles has launched its sub-brand called ‘Moose Labs’ to capture the luxury segment through the online domain. The luxury outwear sub brand is a ‘platform for creative collaborations’. The platform segment made its debut with a capsule collection designed by Global Artistic Director Carlos Nazario.
The capsule collection is a 12-piece utilitarian-style outerwear representing a strategic transition of the brand towards fashion-forward interpretations of technical outerwear, as per reports.
Moose Lab’s debut collection has ‘military-inspired elements’ of 1990s fashion references and it features materials such as Mongolian wool, leather, and shearling, among others. The collection blends premium materials with classic traditional performance wear styles.
Global Artistic Director of Moose Knuckles, Carlos Nazario said that it was a thrilling collaboration with “close friends”. He further added that for him “outerwear transcends mere functionality—it’s an integral part of one’s style expression”.
The platform reflects a wider industry trend of technical outerwear brands aiming to position themselves in the luxury fashion market.
The brand also plans to invite select designers with the view of bringing a contemporary fusion to the brand’s traditional aspects and producing a fashion-forward design. The platform intends to release a new collection every fall and bring unique creative design collections.
