Boohoo, the British online fashion retailer, has collaborated with technical testing firm TÜV Rheinland to open a garment testing laboratory.
The objective will be to offer its brands and suppliers quality in-house garment testing facility.
‘The Lab’, set up in its Manchester head office, will be cost-effective, besides being fast and efficient. Notably, the different technologies to be used include X-ray fluorescent guns and dye-migration testing – in addition to having state-of-the-art washers and dryers.
Also, the business has started purchasing fabrics directly from textile mills, and it’s here that ‘The Lab’ will help these fabrics get tested for quality and durability. The intent is to instil confidence amongst consumers around the longevity of the fabrics.
Boohoo Group is a British online fashion retailer that’s aimed at 16-30-year-olds. The business was founded in 2006, and generated sales of £856.9 million in 2019.
