The ACC or the Anti-Corruption Commission, which is investigating the allegations that the e-commerce entity Evaly has ‘embezzled and trafficked’ Taka 3 billion, has recently sought information from various agencies pertaining to the same.
Media reports claimed this citing ACC officials in this regard.
We are looking into complaints of irregularities about Evaly, reportedly, stated ACC Secretary Md. Anwar Hossain Howlader while interacting with the media, adding that the progress was not enough for the commission to take a decision as the investigation was still at the initial stages.
“Our team has sent out letters to different organisations for information,” reportedly, claimed the ACC Secretary, adding, “We are not the only ones looking into Evaly; other agencies are also involved…We will feed the progress made by these agencies into our investigation.”
As per reports, ACC team of Assistant Director Mamunur Rashid Chowdhury and Deputy Assistant Director Muhammad Shihab Salam is, reportedly, investigating the allegations against Evaly after the national anti-graft agency received a complaint from the Commerce Ministry that Evaly has misappropriated Taka 3.38 billion from customers and merchants, and started investigations on 8 July 2021.
