
In an effort to strengthen its top-level leadership and build a better core for the luxury house, Balenciaga taps in Daphné Cousineau as President of Europe. Beginning her luxury career at Céline in 2005, Cosineau is entering the Parisian fashion house from her position as Global Sales Director of Lanvin; she has also worked at Valentino France where she held the position of Managing Director till 2014.

Balenciaga, which is owned by Kering, is earnestly restructuring its high-ranking administration and is aiming to “strengthen its executive committee by inducting four new members, all of them reporting directly to CEO Cédric Charbit”. As the President of Balenciaga’s Europe division, Cosineau will be in control of Balenciaga’s retail, wholesale and franchising business in the EMEA region.
Along with Daphne, three other women have also joined the organization as central front-runners. Laura du Rusquec, becomes Director of Strategic Projects, who will be “deploying priority projects, especially those linked with the brand’s retail performance”. Caroline Bonnet-Maes, who will serve as Director of Human Resources, Global HR VP, coming from Fast Retailing, proprietor of Uniqlo. Last but not the least, Alexia de Courcel, the label’s new Global Merchandising Director and will be in charge of both women’s and men’s collections.
