
Reports of malpractices and anomalies pertaining to Bangladesh e-commerce sector continues still even as another online entity was said to be recently involved in a Taka 15 crore fraud.
According to media reports, Jeka Bazar, which is, reportedly, a customer-based community marketplace, has ripped off thousands of customers with video views monetising offer even as a case of fraud involving Taka 15 crore has been filed against four persons of Jeka Bazar.
Earlier this month, Jeka Bazar was, reportedly, fined Taka 2 lakh for selling sub-standard products as well.
Jabirul Islam, who is the Managing Director of Jeka Bazar, is reportedly the prime accused in a case filed by one of its executive officers named, Ishanur Rahman, who is said to have substantial investments in the entity, with the police, even as the complainant has, reportedly, alleged that Jabirul has gone into hiding after embezzling around Taka 15 crore of the customers.
