Arvind Fashions Limited, part of the Lalbhai Group, has appointed Amitabh Suri as Chief Executive Officer of its denim brand Flying Machine, according to a statement from the company. Suri will assume the additional responsibility alongside his current role as Chief Executive Officer of U.S. Polo Assn. in India.
The appointment follows the resignation of Nidhi Raj, who led Flying Machine as Chief Executive Officer from November 2021 until stepping down in February 2025. The leadership change comes as Arvind Fashions sharpens its focus on execution and brand performance across its core portfolio in response to shifting consumer preferences in the domestic apparel market.
Suri brings more than 25 years of experience in the apparel and lifestyle industry, with expertise spanning brand building, retail operations, supply chain management and omni-channel strategy. At Arvind Fashions, he has been leading U.S. Polo Assn. in India, which has grown into one of the country’s largest casualwear brands. The brand has expanded across multiple categories, including menswear, womenswear, kidswear, footwear and innerwear.
Prior to joining Arvind Fashions, Suri spent 18 years at Indian Terrain, where he was part of the executive leadership team. During this period, he played a central role in scaling the business from its early stages into a listed company.
Suri later served as Chief Executive Officer of Iconic at the Landmark Group in Dubai. His responsibilities included repositioning the brand, strengthening supply chains, expanding vendor partnerships and accelerating the shift towards an omni-channel retail model.
He has also held the position of President for Exclusive Brands and Private Labels at Shoppers Stop, where he managed a portfolio of in-house private labels, celebrity brands and exclusive international labels.
With Suri now overseeing both U.S. Polo Assn. and Flying Machine, Arvind Fashions is consolidating leadership across two of its key brands. The move underscores the company’s emphasis on unified strategy, operational discipline and consistent brand execution as it navigates an increasingly competitive apparel market and evolving consumer demand.
