American Eagle Outfitters is leaving Japan soon!

Eagle Retailing Corporation, which partners American Eagle Outfitters in Japan, has announced to close all its outlets in Japan before the year ends.

It’s not just stores! The digital business too of American Eagle and Aerie is going to end in the country.

There is a change in Eagle Retailing Corporation’s strategy that has led them to take this decision.

The company plans to now focus on businesswear, and therefore has gone ahead and ended the license agreement with American Eagle Outfitters, which was signed back in 2010.

American Eagle, reportedly, said that it is exploring options for its future business model, and is taking steps to reposition its distribution channels to best serve customers.
