Amazon has announced to set up a Fulfilment Centre (FC) at the southwest Ohio city of Monroe. This will be the fourth FC of Amazon in Ohio.
The FC will be developed by IDI Gazeley, the world’s leading investors and developers of logistics warehouses and distribution parks throughout North America, Europe and Asia.
The facility will be spread over 92,900 square metres of area. Additionally, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority has already sanctioned a 1.39 per cent, 10-year tax credit for the Amazon warehouse.
The Seattle-based e-commerce giant is thankful for the support it has received from the local bodies to bring new jobs and investment to Ohio.
“We welcome Amazon’s commitment to bring 1,000 new jobs to Monroe and its growth in Southwest Ohio,” said JobsOhio President and Chief Investment Officer John Minor in a statement issued by the company.
Employees at the proposed FC will be assigned with jobs like pick, pack and ship larger customer items such as sports equipment, gardening tools, etc.
The latest job creation will be an addition to more than 6,000 Amazonians already working in the state.
