In its latest initiative to reach out to more customers across the country, the e-commerce major Amazon India on Thursday announced that its sellers will now be able to register on Amazon.in marketplace and manage their online business in Hindi.
Right from registering as an Amazon seller for the first time to managing orders and inventory as well as accessing performance metrics – all of it can be experienced in the national language, if the seller wishes so.
Amazon India has made the service available both on its seller website and the mobile app. The brand will also provide training and support services in the form of videos and tutorials in Hindi.
Gopal Pillai, Amazon India’s Vice President – Seller Services, said in a recent statement that the company witnessed encouraging signs during the 6-month testing phase, wherein hundreds of Amazon sellers from Tier-1, Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Telangana and Himachal Pradesh selected Hindi as the preferred language to manage their accounts.
He took pride in sharing that during the testing phase, the company noticed that, for the very first time, new sellers from markets like Darbhanga in Bihar, Barmer in Rajasthan, Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh, Hailakandi in Assam and Bardhaman in West Bengal also expressed their interest and signed up to sell in Hindi on the Amazon marketplace.
In addition to English, Amazon India makes its services available to its customers in various regional languages like Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Malayalam, Gujarati, Telugu, Kannada, Punjabi and Bengali.
