The Indian subsidiary of Amazon announced on September 11 that it has provided temporary jobs to over 22,000 people for the upcoming festive season in the country.
The e-commerce giant’s Fulfilment Centres (41), delivery stations (150) and sorting centres (15) located in various cities including Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Ahmedabad have created these jobs.
Amazon will also place some of the associates at its Customer Service Sites (13) across the country to support its customers and resolve their after-sale queries in various languages like English, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu.
The temporary workforce will help Amazon quicken its services and ensure smooth deliveries during the demanding season ahead.
Amazon aims to offer a hassle-free shopping experience to its customers across the country this festive season, reportedly said Akhil Saxena, Vice President (Customer Fulfilment), Amazon India.
“The temporary associates will support our potential to serve our customers better and enable us to consistently deliver high levels of customer satisfaction,” he added.
