Amazon has announced the dates for its ‘Great Indian Festival’ starting 17 October 2020 (Saturday). Prime members will be able to get early access on 16 October.
This year, lakhs of small and medium businesses will partake in the sale to accelerate their business in tough times and to offer unique selections to customers.
Shoppers can shop for products across categories offered by thousands of Amazon sellers under various programmes like Amazon Launchpad, Local Shops, Amazon Saheli and Amazon Karigar.
The festive season is looking optimistic for these sellers. According to a survey by Neilsen, over 85 per cent of SMBs on Amazon India are expecting to reach new customers and see an increase in sales, while 74 per cent expect a healthy recovery of their business and 78 per cent feel this will increase the visibility of their products.
Commenting on the announcement, Manish Tiwary, Vice President, Amazon India, said “This year’s Great Indian Festival is an opportunity for our sellers and partners to reach millions of customers across the country. Our sellers are excited and expect this to help them in accelerating their business. For our customers, our aim is to help them find everything they need during the festive season and deliver it safely to them.”
Amazon is adding to its repertoire with over 900 new product launches from top brands such as Samsung, OnePlus, Apple, Boat, JBL, Sennheiser, Sony, LG, IFB, Titan, Hisense, BIBA and Max Fashion with deals in every category and new deals everyday.
There will also be bulk discounts and savings for business buyers on Amazon Business.
Customers can now choose to shop and pay bills in more ways than ever, discover deals with voice and shop for various occasions from the specially curated products for festivals.
In order to ensure safe and reliable deliveries, and serve customer demand during Great Indian Festival, the e-tailing giant has ramped up its delivery network, adding close to 200 delivery stations and added tens of thousands of delivery partners to its network.
Amazon.in expanded its fulfillment footprint with more than 60 fulfillment centres in 15 states to serve customers in the farthest parts of the country.
Further, Amazon India announced 5 new sort centres and expansion of 8 existing sort centres across the country to strengthen fulfillment capacity.
