With effect from January 2025, Allan Winstanley, a veteran of the retail industry, has been named the next CEO of independent department store company Morleys.
Nigel Blow, who has been CEO of Morleys for the past eight years, will be replaced by Winstanley, a former Executive Director of Menswear, Beauty & Childrenswear at House of Fraser, where he worked for more than nine years from January 2005 to March 2014, ultimately becoming Executive Director of Women’s Apparel, Accessories & Beauty.
Winstanley, who has spent the last six and a half years as Chief Merchandise Officer at Myer department shops in Melbourne, Australia, is returning to the UK.
His career path was truly shaped at Marks & Spencer, where he worked for more than 20 years, the final eight and a half of which were spent as a menswear buyer. Winstanley has also served as a director for the UK Fragrance Foundation and the British Fashion Council (BFC).
Morleys Department Stores Ltd is a group of eight department stores, seven of which are in and around the Greater London area, providing a selection of ladies’ fashion, menswear and kidswear along with other products.
