Abercrombie & Fitch Co. has announced the appointment of Andrew Clarke to its board of directors, effective 21st August.
Clarke currently serves as the global president of Mars Snacking, a division of Mars, where he oversees the company’s snack brands. He has held this role since 2018.
With over 30 years of experience in consumer-focused industries, including 24 years at Mars in progressively senior roles, Clarke began his career with Mars in UK sales. He later transitioned into various general management and regional positions across Europe and Latin America. He eventually advanced to a global role as chief customer and marketing officer before assuming his current position in Chicago. Additionally, Clarke has been a member of the Mars leadership team for over nine years. Before joining Mars, he started his career at British retailer Marks & Spencer.
“We are thrilled to welcome Andrew to Abercrombie & Fitch Co.’s board of directors. With decades of executive experience in consumer goods and a deep understanding of consumers around the world, he will bring a dynamic, global perspective as we navigate the company’s next chapter of growth,” said Nigel Travis, chairperson of the board.
In its most recent trading update in May, Abercrombie reported a sixth consecutive quarter of revenue growth, reaching US $ 1 billion, with profit improvement driven by fewer promotions and clearance sales. Same-store sales at the Abercrombie namesake brand rose 29 per cent, while Hollister’s comparable-store sales increased by 13 per cent.
