Winsome Textile Industries Ltd, a manufacturer of melange, dyed and speciality yarns, has approved a capital expenditure plan worth around Rs 170 crore (US $17.95 million) to modernise its spinning operations and expand its dyeing facility.
The investment, approved by the company’s Board of Directors, is aimed at increasing production capacity, improving operational efficiency, and strengthening environmental infrastructure.
The expansion project includes the upgradation of yarn spinning production capacity and modernisation of spinning facilities through the installation of new machinery and equipment.
It also involves the expansion of dye house capacity and significant investments in environmental infrastructure, including the augmentation of effluent recycling capacity, upgradation of the existing Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), and improvements to sludge handling systems.
Upon completion, the company’s spinning capacity is expected to increase from 108,288 spindles to 110,352 spindles, while annual dyeing capacity for yarn and fibre will rise from 12,715 metric tonnes to 15,972 metric tonnes.
At present, the spinning unit operates at a capacity utilisation rate of 93%, while the dyeing unit is running at 86% utilisation.
The project is scheduled for completion by 31, March, and will be financed through a combination of internal accruals and debt.
According to the company, the capacity expansion will help its product portfolio, enabling it to attract higher-value customers and secure additional order volumes.
