Innovation in products and customer satisfaction play a crucial role in the sustainable growth of an organisation that has been leading its industry for over 5 decades. The same holds true in the case of Vardhman Textiles Limited that is a leader in yarn manufacturing industry and is hailed as the largest vertically integrated textile manufacturer in India. Founded by Ratan Chand Oswal and his son S P Oswal – a Padma Bhushan awardee – back in 1965, Vardhman has the largest spindle count of 1.20 million with an in-house control of operations spanning the production of acrylic fibre, threads, yarns, fabrics and even garments.
Continuing the legacy, Suchita Oswal Jain – a third-generation entrepreneur and dynamic businesswoman – is currently leading this billion-dollar organisation and is weaving success through quality, consistency, technological superiority, adaptability and customer focus that have been the core elements in the foundation of the group.
“At Vardhman, we believe in driving excellence with passion and dedication. We are committed to creating a future that’s sustainable and viable. It is our priority to diversify and evolve, be it product basket or technology,” tells Suchita Oswal Jain.
Exquisite and expansive sustainable product range of Vardhman, developed by the latest technology, is what defines its dominance in the yarn industry…
Vardhman, as the leading textile conglomerate, offers the widest range of specialised greige and dyed yarns in cotton, polyester, acrylic and a variety of blends. Besides, the group also manufactures value-added and special range of products like Organic Cotton, Melange, Core Spun Yarns, Ultra Yarns (Contamination controlled), Gassed Mercerised, Super Fine Yarns, Slub and Cellulose Yarns and Fancy Yarns for hand knitting.
Adding a number of products into the basket becomes a lot easier when an organisation has a habit of understanding the market sentiments and customer requisites even in the fluctuating times for business and the rest is taken care of by well-versed teams on the manufacturing and development floors with the help of latest technology. Vardhman, with its immense technical know-how, has taken great strides in automation, standardisation and digitalisation; and it does the same by following a balanced approach that also includes efforts towards making its journey sustainable for people, planet and process.
Melanges – The collection for A/W ’23 (Autumn-Winter) season is what Vardhman’s focus has been lately in the category. The organisation has recently launched a product Sanspill – Low Pill Yarn and became the only supplier of vortex melange in India. The launch was done targeting men’s segment and brands. Its uniqueness is in its anti-pilling property using specialised pilbloc fibre. At present, the company’s production capacity for the same is 4.50 tonnes per day and is planned to be expanded to 5-7 tonnes per day. It’s worth noting here that Vardhman is the only supplier for Melanges, globally approved by various brands, to provide sustainable products in 100 per cent cotton with a content of up to 30 per cent recycled cotton and 70 per cent virgin cotton.
Slub – Being a value-added product, slub is a category that’s giving Vardhman an overwhelming response in terms of customer delight. All the latest developments in slub patterns such as reverse slub, multi-count slub, jaspe slub in addition to the conventional patterns like long slub, medium slub and short slub are much talked about by the buyers all around the world.
Hand Knitting Yarn – Being the market leader in the hand knitting category, Vardhman does have a wide variety of colourful and fancy hand knitting yarns, with a wide range of blends such as 100 per cent acrylic, 100 per cent wool, 100 per cent cotton and 100 per cent polyester including various mixtures of these blends.
Machine Knitting Yarn – In the fancy yarn/machine knitting segment, Vardhman has been witnessing a number of serious queries from the market owing to multiple reasons. Firstly, Vardhman is the leader in this segment for over 2 decades and the organisation is looked up to by others for bringing international quality and patterns into the local market. Secondly, the months of December and January are ideal for the customers as well for the sampling of new articles and new yarns. Being the peak of the winter season, during these months, all varieties aligned with upcoming trends are developed.
Another unique product launched this year was in the Hair Yarn category. It is worth mentioning here that in this Hair Yarn category, the majority of yarns are imported from China but for the first time in India, Vardhman has developed a new range of Hair Yarn. It goes without saying that for these reasons, Vardhman is a byword for quality, commitment and innovation in the textile industry. The drive to continuously raise the bar and benchmark itself to the global best has seen the organisation exceed customer expectations and sharpen its competitive edge.
As a frontrunner in the industry, Vardhman leaves no stone unturned to make the reach of its unique and unparalleled product range to the wider customer segment in the market…And, when exhibitions like YARNEX knock the door that have held supremacy in the yarns, fibres and fabrics showcase industry for years, it is natural for a company like Vardhman to not just participate in the exhibition but make a sturdy presence with a plethora of innovative products. Vardhman showcased its entire product range, as mentioned above, in the recently concluded YARNEX event in Ludhiana (Punjab) that is traditionally a knitwear hub and poses great opportunities for the company.
“Vardhman Group as a world-class textile organisation aims at producing a diverse range of products for the global textiles market. We seek to achieve customer delight through excellence in manufacturing and customer service, based on a creative combination of state-of-the-art technology and human resources” quotes Suchita Oswal Jain, bringing up the customer-first strategy of the Group.
Sustainability is always at the core of Vardhman’s business model…
Apart from making sustainable products, the organisation addresses the triple bottom lines of sustainability and thrusts on going green. The group has had a special emphasis on sustainability since its inception and has won multiple awards for its initiatives in the direction of reducing the environmental footprint. Besides opting for green fibres and processes, Vardhman has planted over 4 lakh trees, developing green belts across regions. On the product front, the textile manufacturer has a complete range of cellulosic yarns like Modal, Tencel, Bamboo and Recycled yarns.
