The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bhaane Group, a division of Shahi Exports Pvt Ltd, one of India’s top clothing manufacturers, to strengthen the start-up ecosystem in the apparel manufacturing sector.
According to DPIIT, this partnership will establish incubation programs for businesses with a focus on manufacturing as well as other production domains and cultivate connections with global start-up ecosystems.
Speaking about the breakthrough, DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv stated, “This partnership serves a greater good – to strengthen India’s manufacturing landscape and foster a thriving entrepreneurial spirit. We create a win-win environment where innovation thrives and Indian companies succeed internationally by connecting start-ups with well-established companies like Bhaane Group.”
“Since India is one of the major players in the South Asian market, international companies are interested in investing in Indian start-ups”, according to Anand Ahuja, CEO and co-founder of Bhaane Group. “Our goal of encouraging innovation and global competitiveness among Indian start-ups is in line with DPIIT’s aim with Start Up India.”
DPIIT is confident that Bhaane Group’s vast experience will help new businesses by giving them access to market intelligence. The company will help them get a comprehensive grasp of how international markets function and offer advice on operational knowledge at every stage of the starting process.
