Just four months after the first unit of Nva Dantewada garment factory goes operational in Dantewada district in the state of Chhattisgarh, the second factory of the organisation (in Barsur area) is also operational now.
As of now, the second unit has 85 machines with more machines to be added soon. Currently, 150 workers are working here. Notably, both factories work on piece rate.
Apart from this, another garment factory in Kondanar will also start soon.
Bhupesh Baghel, CM of the state virtually inaugurated this second factory. The CM also interacted with the women workers of the factory and discussed about their experience of working in the factory and their income.
Most of the workers in these factories are women. Earlier they were earning very less by doing various works, but now after proper training, their earning has improved in these factories. Importantly, it has boosted their confidence also.
These units have all basic facilities like crèche, rest room and more.
On this occasion, readymade garments worth Rs. 1.20 crore were also sent to Bengaluru.
It can be mentioned here that Chhattisgarh does not have an organised garment industry and with the support of local administration in Dantweada, the first-ever organised garment factory of the state was started.
