
Apparel Made-Ups and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMH SSC) and PSGR Krishnammal College for Women (PSGRKCW) on 11th September signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Coimbatore for establishing a state-of-the-art Centre for Excellence, officially giving a green signal to the project. Distinguished guests at the formal event included A. Sakthivel, Chairman of AMH SSC, and P. Meena, Principal of PSGRKCW, Coimbatore. The offical signing procceded with Shankararaagavan, Joint Director, COE, Tirupur and P. Meena.
- Sakthivel, addressing the audience, commenced to signify the importance of the critical need to enhance excellence in the production processes within the apparel industry. He further emphasised on the importance of preparing qualified personnel to meet the industry demands for excellence and the necessity for numerous Centers of Excellence, nationwide.
He also stressed the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship’s vision to open centres of excellence pan India and AMHSSC’s plans to expand and open COEs in Karur, Guwahati, Kolkata, Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Sangli and Trivandrum, in addition to the existing COEs in Noida and Tirupur, with the Coimbatore branch to join the bandwagon recently.
PSGRKCW is a prestigious autonomous institution offering self-financing Arts and Science courses. Additionaly, P. Meena expressed her gratitude to AMHSSC for choosing PSGRKCW College and visualising conducting top-tier skilling training programs at the COE.
