Alex Zucchi has been selected as the new president of CEMATEX, the European Committee of Textile Machinery Manufacturers, following his election at the General Assembly on 14th June 2024.
Zucchi has been enthusiastically involved in CEMATEX, formerly serving in the ACIMIT delegation since 2015 and most recently as the president of ACIMIT. He is known for his support of sustainability, including initiatives like sponsoring the ACIMIT green label and promoting the recycling of textile machinery. Presently, Zucchi holds the position of MD and partner at Ferraro, focusing in finishing machinery.
After Zucchi’s election, the General Assembly shared its appreciation to departing president Ernesto Maurer for his steadfast leadership over the last four years. Maurer will continue his participation with CEMATEX as its VP.
In his first statement as president, Zucchi shared, “It is a great honour to accept this role, and I am thankful to the Assembly for their assurance in me. I also want to recognise the achievements of the previous president Ernesto Maurer in re-enforcing CEMATEX’s global presence throughout his tenure.”
